I just got an e-mail message saying

"Your Nokia Developer account maakuth password has been reset as a precautionary security measure.
The Nokia Developer Team is investigating and will provide more details when they become available."

The message looked so rough I assumed it was spam, but looking at the headers and the SSL certificate of the site it linked, I ended up resetting the password using it. Has anyone else received such a message without request? Have I submitted myself to some elaborate man-in-the-middle/SSL forgery/phishing attack?

I got the same message and had to reset my pass also. All went well. The message seems to imply that there was some sort of security issue and that Nokia was investigating. I wonder what it was....

Yeah, I got it too. I would have expected an explanation from Nokia because if the email is on the level then I suspect this is the second time the membership security of this site has been compromised. After a long day on the screen I am not overjoyed at jumping through the hoops of their images for resetting the password either. J

All - the e-mail you received was legitimate - and we appreciate your following its guidance.

We believe that there has been unauthorized access to http://projects.developer.nokia.com, and an investigation is now underway. We are working to determine the scope of the unauthorized access, and as a precautionary measure, the site has been temporarily suspended. We appreciate it is unfortunate for the site to be currently unavailable, and we are doing everything we can to fix it and hope to have it live again as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding. - jason

I too got email yesterday and reset the password. I am surprized why the special characters are not allowed while reseting the password!

I just hope that sources from http://projects.developer.nokia.com were not stolen. Can you confirm this, please?

Okay, good to know this was a genuine thing. You should probably take a look at the mail template and see if there's a way to make it feel less shady.
