It does seem to have some financial benefit otherwise people would not do it. Imagine app with last few reviews that are negative. You hardly find many customers who will purchase it, on the other hand if the is a similar app with good reviews it's probable that the customer will consider to buy it. I'm afraid that for one bad review (one purchase) the competitor may get hundreds of purchases of his own app![]()
Buying you own app is not that costly as money will be returned to you with payments (with some taxes off)![]()
The easiest way to prevent multiple reviews is to identify submit action by phone IMEI number. It was Ovi Store architects big mistake to set uniqueness of reviews by username only.
Do you really think architects built the ovi store? I would argue it was more then likely butchers with cloven hooves for hands? It was Ovi Store architects
Cheers,
Jon
If this is bad, for me even worse is other developers advertise their own applications in others developers applications:

Sorry, I not read well, your problem is my problem.
But, maybe the Ovi Store (moderation) is the problem.
Let's be real, Ovi receive by app, not matter what app. For Ovi is the same..

Hi Andrew.
This is almost the same (ok dont have link):
helen.mperou make reviews in my 2 similar apps in the same hour, but make none in the much better application 's&m info'. Strange. There is much better application in ovi store! It's called 's&m info'.
If it is normal, if that's how the store works, I can not do anything.
Thanks
Hi everybody...I have a serious problem...May be some of U are facing the same...someone or some group intentionally gives 1star in every 6 hours, gives false bad reviews and personal attack in the review...it efects all the new released contents...the overall rating become low...all the free contents are affected..why not Nokia impliment IMEI restriction..because it clearly shows they are doing this from same mobiles..atleast can the developer have the fecility to know the country name?...so that it can be stoped !!![]()

Yes, you can read about similar things in http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...e-self-reviews
Perhaps your post will get merged to that thread.
