There have not been added any new device in Device Distribution program since the Nokia E6. Are there any plans to add new devices? For example, is the Nokia N9 going to be added there?

Hello,
AFAIK the future of the Device Distribution program is currently a bit open. The program has basically been put the program "on hold" and no new models have been or will be added there in near future (so unfortunately for example N9 will not be available through this source) and old models will be dropped from the lists as well as the devices in our stock are "sold out".
I should clarify the program shouldn't be entirely ramped down, but used more for projects/special cases (like terminal mode, NFC kits etc.), not by default for new products

(I mean - I understand that it is unwanted to have freeloaders. But this could be solved easily: just scratch the phones before shipping)

My DDP page never shows me any available devices.. May i know why???
I received a mail telling me that new Nokia handsets like the ASHA series are now available in DDP.. but could not see them anywhere...
You should write detail Email to that Device Distribution program.
I have read in this forum where individuals had devices available to them through DDP
That might be a technical thing you have read about. The E7 gifts were handed out via DDP.
No.. That wasnt related to E7.. m sure of that.. that was something else
There is the proto loaner program for early device but they are not just given to anyone.

It is a very bad ideea with serious negative consequences. Almost all applications will benefit from testing on real devices, RDA is good, but it can not fully replace testing on a "local" device.
You loose in overall applications quality => overall poor user experience with Nokia devices => less sales for Nokia globaly.
Is it worth it? for a couple of devices sold at discount price for maybe several thousands developers? (I might be optimistic about developers number). How much does it cost to compensate internal developer testing with Nokia QA? I bet is more expensive.
In my case I have bought N9 for the full price in December, now we need a Symbian Belle device which again I probabbly shall buy at full price![]()
