I seem to remember sometime ago reading that launchpad members get free app hub membership via a rebate, is this true? Could someone point me in the right direction if it is?

there is no information on this page, just a link to apply for membership (which I am already a member of)

it might bcuz you are not member of Launchpad. So to get free apphub account u need to be Lauchpad member first and Ovi store account holder according to T&C.
Anyway I am just saying u in short. To register with AppHub you need to pay the fees first and once you done with registration just send email to Lauchpad team that that and that is my email id and Account Name in AppHub.
In around 1 month, Microsoft will return ur fees in ur credit card becuz of this deal.
