NFC on N9 not working - Low RF level?

Hi

I have problems with my N9, it seems that the phone is having problems with detecting NFC targets. E.g. When trying to detect a NFC passport it takes several tries before it actually detects it. Sometimes it is not detected at all. Using another phone model (Android based) It always detects the target.
I have also tried with other NFC tags and the result is the same, the android based phone is much better..

I suspect that the NFC RF level from the phone is to low, are there any settings somewhere which will increase the RF level strength of the NFC field, maybe a "secret" parameter for the nfcd? The QT mobility NFC API does not seem to contain any functions for setting such parameters..

FYI.
I have tested two N9's and both seems to have the same problem while an android phone does not. Anyone with Ideas are welcome to comment.
I find little/no information about this problem on google.. Could it be bad NFC antenna design?

Hi,
Do you have any chance to test it with Symbian Device for example C7?
What kind of tag is embeded with passport?
