I'm seeking for a solution on how to connect to a tcp port using javascript(Widget). Basically, we have a server that is constantly streaming XML data on port 1024. Is there a way to connect to the TCP port using javascript ?.

Hmm... I'm note totally sure what you are after, but maybe Flash Lite sockets could be used to achieve this. I haven't tested this myself so I cannot guarantee it would work.
