Totally new Dveloper

Hi all ...

I am a totally new developer to Qt but i do have experience with C++ and extensive OOP knowledge in php/mysql/javascript.

I was trying out the Qt creator in the 1.2 version of the SDK.

So far the youtube videos i have looked up, all the tutorials i have looked up have not been much help to a new user even on the forums themselves.

I have gone through the Getting started thread and also gone through most of the 14 pages in the Beginner forum but so far no direction.

I was wondering if someone could push me in the right direction (ie some good PDF's, some tutorials or just text which is current)

Some problems i ran into while trying the default examples and adding my own

Warning - Some of these may sound extra noobish to you so please remember that i am a total beginner. Also these are not for answers, just some walls i ran into, and am looking for a place that will help me get around them.

When i added a flickable item it would not flick
Same for a flippable item
Simulator not working properly



Most important Point
I am trying to code for my nokia n8

You can start with Getting_started link. First you try with helloword program and continue it for with more difficult one.

can you be more specific, like what is the error you are getting or some screenshot, or sample code used to help you out.

And do not worry, with your background you should find it easier to develop, start trying to use qt quick examples for N8 (btw do you have phone with you, if not you can use the Remote Device Access facility)

Sorry i was not specific...I have already gone through that, but i am under the impression that we cannot have 4.7.(4?) on symbian belle yet even with the 1.2 release of the sdk therefore some of that does not apply to me (the runnong on phone part).

I do have a nokia n8 belle with me that i can use (if possible) but as to the simulator thing i was looking over a example on youtube with a card flick/flip example

Try as i might the simulator would not flip or flick the cards...but i'm guessing thats just me.
I think i just need a little hlep getting the basics going something
