IMSI information on WP7

Hi,

It doesn't currently seem possible to retrieve IMSI information using the current API. Are there any plans to make IMSI available to applications? This is vital for mobile apps that link to Operator services and for verifying that the SIM card has not been swapped.

Basically Nokia WP devices are generally exposing the MS APIs , so you might want to ask road map questions in Microsoft channels.

Agreed.. but I think you should ask this question to the Microsoft SDK's support.

The original poster wants to detect whether the SIM card in the phone has been changed (from one network operator's/carrier's card to another operator's card). That doesn't have much with localization techniques to do, as far as I can tell.

Sorry. My Mistake. didn't read the whole question. I thought he needs to check the country info which also can get from IMSI number. But unfortunately , this API is not available for 3rd party apps. Hope MS will make it open for all soon.

Perhaps I am a bit naive, but I think in the past it was done on the ISP level. The mobile operator can easily restrict access to the given service to its own IP network. Of course this approach does not work with WiFi.

@Yusuf: I found one solution for your question.
You can get the Mobile operator name by DeviceNetworkInformation class.

First time when you app start, you can save the operator name and keep checking everytime when app open. It should same and if not you can stop fun. of your app and see the message to user that your sim card of particular operator has been change.

That, is a partial solution, but won't help if you change to a different SIM card from the same operator.

Thats true..
It wont help in case of same operator sim card.
