TryAndBuy example fails to install on X7 Belle

I unzipped iap_qt_sdk_0.3.1_24.01.12.zip under C:/QtSDK and was I able to successfully compile the TryAndByExample targeting Symbian Anna.

I'm not exactly sure which version of QtSDK this machine has, Qt Creator is 2.3.1, so perhaps it is QtSDK 1.1?

Anyway, when installing the resulting Game.sis it complains about Component 'IAP' missing. If I continue anyway, it installs, but does not start.

If I build the smart installer version, Game_installer.sis, that starts installing, then decides to revert changes and in the end says Device not supported (device being X7 Belle).

I'm downloading QtSDK 1.2.1 in the hope that it would fix something, but I also wonder what is the problem...

Actually you can find an installer in the .zip file Symbian\sis\InApplicationPurchase\0.3.1\iap_installer_0.3.1_signed.sis

Ok... and how is it supposed to get installed if I do my own application with IAP that I submit to Ovi Store?
If I package just the plain unsigned sis, will the store staff/automaton then automatically bundle it with the IAP component or smart installer dependency to it?

Symbian\sis\InApplicationPurchase\0.3.1\iap_installer_0.3.1_signed.sis

is for testing purposes. When submitting to Nokia Store your app must be wrapped in Smart Installer --- i did not find information X7 Belle is not supported by IAP --- so just try to submit your app. As you see at least IAP testing is available for X7 Belle with IAP client manual installation .

iap is supported by smart installer even http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...er_for_Symbian does not mention of it.

If the installation of a Smart Installer package fails, enable SI logging (see end of http://nokia.ly/SmartInstaller page) and from there it will be immediately clear what the problem may be.
There is a dedicated forum for Smart Installer related issues on this board.

In testing through RDA it seems that X7 is somehow incompatible with IAP. Both Anna and Belle X7 complained about certicate error when trying to install RDA signed SI package. On my development phone X7, SI package install worked once I had manually installed the iap_installer....sis first.

The same SI package worked fine on 808, 701, N8 through RDA, but failed on all three X7 devices I tried. So for now I marked X7 incompatible in my submission to Ovi store. Can you very X7 status? (I did reinstall the rda certificates to X7s, but that was not the problem).

Sigh... I guess I need to test all devices through RDA...

I will also check what SI logs say, once the wiki comes back up and I can read the instructions.

I have the full logs if required.

The RDA Belle devices C6-01, C7-00, X7-00 were failing on some certificate error which is probably something different, perhaps cured by reboot and reinstall of RDA certifate. Probably half of them were already comatose.... Will check again tomorrow.

Fixed where? If this is supposed to be a server side fix, there is something else as well, as it still fails. Further testing shows that it works for X7 Anna, but not on X7 Belle.

Interestingly enough, the failure seems X7 specific. SW 111.030.0609 on N8 works, but on X7 it does not, (with sample sizes of 1.)

You observe the same sort of error from Smart Installer server as before. Just one more component fails. This error has been fixed today at 14:30 UTC+2 the changes are visible in approx two hours. Sorry for troubling
