Symbian Signed Test Criteria Test 8-Un-install

Hi all,
1) I am using smart installer to install these two dependencies.
;dependencies - PIPS library need to be installed.
(0x20013851), 1, 6, 0~ *, *, *, {"Symbian OS PIPS Library"}

;dependencies - Standard C++ library need to be installed.
(0x2000F866), 1, 6, 0~ *, *, *, {"Symbian OS Standard C++ Library"}
so while uninstalling my application i have to remove these dependencies also to pass this test criteria?

2)with my app i am installing .jar file using software installer which is available in wiki and it'll create one separate icon.
I have to uninstall JAR also in a single shot while UN-Installing symbian app?

basically Smart installer dependencies are often include also in firmware, thus there would be no ways on determining whether they could even be safely removed, so you don't need to care of installation issues with them.

Basically you can not uninstall the java application during uninstallation, since you can not have two instances of the installer running same time. Basically you should bring up a note that tells the user to uninstall the java file after the previous uninstallation finishes, and if the java application requires any parts installed with the uninstalaled app, then make sure you also show some notes there for missing stuff, and re-instalaltion instructions and also removal instructions.

You could also also include removal instructions in your application build-in help. And note that if the java application can be uninstalled separately, could be that user removes it before anything else, so you might also see that this scenario would not bring any nasty surprises.

i dont know how to do this, please provide some document if available or give some ideas to follow?

excellently good question indeed. Basically I suppose that the actual pkg notes are only shown during installation, thus you should make a separate executable that would show the note. Information for general packing would be in: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...e_File_Options

I created GUI application which displays note "please un install test.jar after completion of this process" and
included in main app .pkg

that looks good to me, for waivers you can create new inside your account under the "My Waivers" tab.

so i am confused with this criteria.... i think it'll fail here.
anybody have idea about this?

You might want to try emailing to symbian.signed@nokia.com and asking for the need for waivers question.
