Any way to get category icons only with the inside image without the pushpin?

Thanks Daniel, any way to get all the categories? is there any service for it?
Hi,
you can find the top-level categories in the documentation: http://api.maps.nokia.com/en/restpla...tml#Categories.
These are the categories we intend to support long-term. Sub-categories might change, though. There is currently no service that shows all categories. Could you describe why you would need it?

I need a way to have an icon of the categories on the application. I don't like the icon you provide with the pushpin because they don't respect my metro interface.
I want to integrate Nokia Places into my app, boPlace http://www.windowsphone.com/es-ES/ap...e-7b75dcaf6fa8, and we're planning on having a list with the results category with its icon.
If I know all the categories, we could provide a local icon for each.
I understand. This is a use case for providing all categories at an endpoint. We will evaluate this feature.
Please be aware, that all categories except the ones mentioned in the documentation are dynamic and might change at any time or not be available in all countries.

Of course, we will provide a standard icon for dynamic categories but I want to have one for the long-term categories.
Hi Daniel,
We are also interested in finding a list of sub-categories. I have followed the link to the main categories, but they do not seem to have a high degree of resolution. We are migrating across from the now-defunct Map24 and MapTP services, where we had access to the more refined category list that Navteq had. Is there a way we can access the sub-category list, even though you say they won't be supported? We can adjust our processes very quickly for nil returns on sub-category (in the event that one happens to disappear), but our application is dependent upon having access to a higher degree of fidelity than the top-level categories. For example, in the Nokia Places API, how would you find "church" or "marina"?
Kind Regards,
Michael
Hi,
We are working on a way to expose all categories for a given region.

I must get list of sub categories. We are doing a game where we must know available sub categories. Google API has around 90 categories. That is good set of categories to our game. Nokia has only around 10 categories. By having all sub categories listed it enables more variations to our game. After that we can move from Google API to Nokia API.
Hi,
I answered your question in the other thread.
