Lwuit Dialog Box problems

I want to show a progress bar in my LWUIT application. I have customized a Dialog Box for this purpose. But the dialog box pauses the background activity so it is of no use to me. If there is a way to use the Dialog Box for the above mentioned purpose then please tell me. Or suggest any other way. Thanks.
