    When I operate a function on the Eclipse with s40 sdks, it send me a warning that the internal RMI registry port number. may be used by another application, so you must change it.In the mean time, it do not show emulator. I have no idea about internal RMI registry port number. Please help me!

    Im also unable to run the emulator because of RMI registry port numbers (I've tried changing them, restaring Eclipse, Windows, etc.) but it keeps happening. Did you manage to fix this?

    I have the same problem. It does not go away if I change the port number in settings.
    Moreover the port is actually open by javaw run with the following command line:

    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" sun.rmi.registry.RegistryImpl 1099

    I have same problem , I use windows 7. I even tried to re-install the whole windows but the problem still exists !!!!!!

    That happened to me after installing java 7 (over java 6). After uninstalling java7 problem disappeared.

    Even though this is an old thread, but I will still reply in case someone else still facing the problem.

    Basically you need to uninstall latest JDK and install an older version 1.6u 23, because this problem is caused by some jdk bug. http://code-gotcha.blogspot.com/2011...sed-error.html

    You can also update to Java SE Update 30 (Early access build).

    I uninstalled JRE1.6u29 and installed JRE1.6u34 and everything came to life.
