    Dear Nokia Developers,

I have a BlackBerry application that was built using WebWorks API - HTML5 - Javascript, and I would like to build it for Windows Phone devices, too. I am new to Windows Phone development. How can I build an Windows Phone app with my existing codes? Is there an API like WebWorks? Or do I have to use PhoneGap? Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards

    Hi,
You can try PhoneGap. It supports Windows Phone now.
If your application works fine on web browser, you can publish it on the web and use it on the Windows Phone 7 web browser. It is another way to port your application....

Thanks, but I'm creating HTML5 elements like audio in my app, and I guess I'll have to re-write my code using PhoneGap API's?

Welll Phonegap is cross platform... not windows phone specific, so you may consider doing so. It would open up other markets for you too. And it also supports BB.
    Cheers

No. I dont think you can use existed code of BB in WP7. Yes. you can try PhoneGap that supports Windows Phone 7 with all feature.

As you mentioned in the first thread "you have built app using WebWorks API - HTML5 and Javascript"; then you don't need to re-write any additional code in PhoneGap app for Windows Phone7.

However you can use the you can use existed code of BB in WP7 using PhoneGap for user interface perspective (It is also supports to invoke native API using jQuery). HTML5 is HTML5 nothing is going to be changed in WP7 browser also, as well as over the cross platform.

    PhoneGap API Reference

PhoneGap features supports on multiple operating systems

Concluded : you can use the HTML5 and javescript as it is, over the supported platforms by PhoneGap.

    Hope it helps.
