How to format a corrupted memory card

Hello..

I'm a newbie to this handphone world..Now i'm using nokia 6630

This morning , while trying 2 play my mp3 , i have a msg " unable to open your card..corrupted"

what should i do to fix this..i have tried fixing this using the built in program in the phone but fail..

after that , using memory card reader , i try to fix it and try to format it..but windows cannot format the memory card..

what sould i do now ? i s there any freeware that can format and fix the memory card..thanks

Use a file manager and a memory card reader and transfer the "corrupted files" to the PC. Format the MMC in the phone (if possible) or in the MMC reader. Be sure to format in FAT16. Then reinsert the MMC in the phone and transfer the files back from PC using Nokia PC Suite.

At least this is the way I have got it worked before with customers with corrupted MMC cards.

Use FAT format to reformat.... when you put it into a MMC Card reader.

If the card is so corrupted that it cannot even be formatted, why do you want to risk using it ?

SD cards = cheap
