Nokia IDE for Java ME (Eclipse) v.1 hangs and does not launch

Hi,

I'm not sure if you have already experienced this, but the new Nokia IDE for Java ME (bundled with the newly released Nokia SDK 2.0) hangs on succeeding re-launch. Already tried to re-install and restart the system but still experienced the same result.

These are the specs of my system:

• OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1
• Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 2.53GHz
• RAM: 4.00 GB
• Java Version: 7
• Installed Nokia SDK's: Nokia SDK 2.0, 1.1; S40 5th Edition; Symbian Belle SDK 1.0

Do you refer to the emulator here or to the IDE itself? The IDE cannot be launched twice because the first instance locks the workspace directory, so that the second instance cannot access it (you would probably need to define a new path for the second instance).

If you refer to the Emulator, I have tried to:

a) press the "Run" button twice
b) press the "Run" button once, wait until the Emulator instance launches, then press it again.

Under scenario
a) two Emulator instances are launched.

Under scenario
b) my MIDlet launches in the same SDK instance because this is set as the Emulator's default behavior, under Tools > Preferences > MIDP.

So, this rather seems like an issue associated with your system. What build of Java version 7 (try java -version from a command prompt) are you using? I have tested this on 1.7.0_04-b22. Could it be, that by updating your java build, you solve your issues? Also have you tried to reproduce this on a different project, say the standard HelloWorld example?

Thank you for the reply.

I'm referring to the IDE. And sorry, what I meant was: the next time I tried to start the IDE (after closing it, then starting it again) it hangs, and only loads till 70% utmost of the progress bar.

I'm using Java 1.7.0_05
