Developing Offline English Translation Dictionary.

Hello All,
Please I'm Relatively new to Java Programming am a first year Computer Science Student please I want to develop an offline dictionary for Nokia s40 phones .jar that translates English to my Local language I've googled and searched the discussion topics for similar posts but I've not found any related posts please any Help and information will be useful cos am still a beginner Thanks a lot.

Just to add what petrib suggested ; pls also ensure that your target devcies supports your local language unicode, so that you wont end up in trouble moving forward.

I would suggest to create 26 text files for English words something like a.txt, b.txt,c.txt... where a.txt file contains all the words starting from a, and b.txt contains all the words starting from b.... and so on. Keep all of them in resource file in the JAR.

On first lunch, show a blocking popup to user - "Creating dictionary in RMS", make 26 RMS files and move the content from resource files to RMS.

When user starts typing any English word in the search box, fetch the matching words from RMS using the starting word RMS file and putting RMS filter based on the input characters on the complete list display on the UI.
