    Hello All,

We are planning to develop an application for Nokia S40 devices . We would like to use LWUIT for the UI . From the following blog:http://www.developer.nokia.com/Blogs...h-august-2012/ we noticed that LWUIT is expected to work "on Series 40 5th Edition and higher devices (full touch, touch-and-type and non-touch)". Since we are planning to target our application on all devices (including the lowest edition), which SDK platform do we choose to develop the application? If we choose the lowest version of SDK say Series 40 5th Edition, ITU-T keypad; 240x320 screen resolution, how would it behave on devices with version 2.0.? Kindly help me with this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    S.A.Norton Stanley

    Hi sam.almighty85,

if you are planning to support all devices mentioned in the LWUIT package, use Nokia S40 Java SDK 2.0 for development. and use "S40-non-touch.jar" in the directory 'Series-40-binaries-0.6.2-beta\bin\sdk2.0' of the LWUIT binary package.

also note that as mentioned in the 'Choosing JAR' section of readme.txt file
Use the jar under the release name folder for same or earlier version of devices.

Applications using LWUIT jars under specific release folder are expected to compile and run on the same release but in earlier versions they only run but do not compile.

    Hello bandarap,

Thank you for your quick response. If i use the "S40-non-touch.jar" how will the behavior be on a fully touch phone? Will the touch event be handled?

    Thanking you,
    Regards,

as it is in SDK2.0 folder it should support touch events too. The jar named "S40-non-touch.jar" to differentiate with other jars in that folder.
