Custom Fimware / Pre installed software

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but:

I Have a customer that wants to give lottery gifts to their customers (Lumia 920) phones with the company app (It's already in the marketplace) and lock screen jpg. Customized / Pre-installed to it.

What are the options?

- Installing an app and removing the windows account after that is not possible.
- XAP installation fails

The only reasonable way achieve this (what i can think of) is to have a customized firmware like operators do.

Any suggestions?

For a few units, I doubt that Nokia is willing to do a customized firmware package, so that isn't a realistic alternative. If your customer orders several tens of thousands, and also also pays for the custom work, then it might be possible.

Not only what Petrib said, but also your costumer would need to have their devices branded to them. Something that only operators do.

What your customer can do is to provide a NFC Tag or Business Card with NFC tag and invite the user to configure the phone and then read the NFC tag to install the custom software. Its a nice way to use the tap & send feature in the 920 and a nice touch to use NFC to promote the phone and the company. In my opinion of course.

There might be a way using SDCard, but there is no card reader in the 920.
