    Hi,

I tried to use the Digital Marketing Kit (Marketing in a box - beta) for my Windows Phone app, from here: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Distr...ting_your_app/

I get this error in Step 1, after I click the Continue button. "Errors found: No images could be downloaded."

I could not find an appropriate discussion board to post this, so have chosen it to be here. How can I leave this feedback to the team who developed this amazing (in theory) marketing kit.

    Cheers

    // Mani/

    Hey Mani,

Its working fine and I've recently used it to promote my three applications. Can you tell me exactly what "asset" you select to create and which Application URL you wish to market? (The URL of that application, hope its in store already)

    Thanks

I get this same error also. I tried a few different apps I have in the Windows Phone Marketplace with the same result. I tried creating a website and banner assets with the following application url (http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=...1-fc3c5559207c) as an example.

Well now this is interesting. I tried the same tool with other applications on store and it did manage to get all images it requires. I even tried an application having only one image for viewing and it worked like a charm. But your above application is acting kind of weird, all other apps are working fine with the Digital Marketing Tool.

For now, I'm Reporting this issue, in the mean while you can try updating few more images for your application...

    Thanks

Thanks for taking a look and reporting this. Just as some added information the screenshots are captured from the emulator (which I think would be fairly typical of most devs). The tile and logo images were created using Paint.Net. I'll look at those and see if there's anything odd about how I'm creating those that might throw off the marketing tool.

Well, the tool shouldn't be the cause of this I guess. But let's see, something was really strange. By the way your other wp apps like "Quick Message" and "Plainsight Password" are working fine with the Digital Marketing Tool.

What I found different in your "Appointment Share" was that it was *only for WP8! Whereas other all were for WP8 & WP7 aswell.
So yes, here's the bug found!

    Will get to you soon!
    Thanks!

I wonder if it has to do with the WP8 only apps having WXGA and 720p screenshots. The issue I had with WP7 apps was I pasted the application ID from the Dashboard details. It seems the Digital Marketing Tool requires the actual Marketplace link this redirects to, which has a slightly different format. Not sure if that might be the problem others have encountered.

Well, I've tested Digital Marketing Tool and it works perfectly for WP7 apps! However for the apps that *only* support WP8 aren't supported yet...
Try porting your WP8 apps to WP7 too...
You just need to recompile... (If the app's not that complex)

I'm using APIs only available under WP8 (NFC), so I can't back port to WP7.
