    Is it possible to create Midlet icon to show notification (like the SMS inbox when got new SMS) to show e.g. "X number of unread msg".

    Hi jameztcc! Welcome to Nokia Developer Discussion Boards!!

    If you are mentioning about notification once SMS to a particular app is received, a system alert will be popped up requesting app start.

    If you are mentioning about making changes to MIDLet icon during runtime - Its not possible AFAIK.
