I will be making calls from J2EE environment to places rest api. Is GSON the best option for converting the response into Java objects? Does it support everything that is returned from the places API? Also looking at maybe using Jersey for the rest client? What is best option from Java/J2EE environment for interacting with places api? Thanks

    Hi,

I don’t know too much about GSON.

You have to be prepared for new fields that might appear in the response, you need to make sure your client won’t break then. You could either ignore additional fields or in case of extended attributes -- which will always follow the pattern of having a localised label and a text field with the content -- render them by just displaying label and text.
