Search response parameter definition

I would like to have more clarification on places search response. See the response to my query below for starbucks in nyc gps:

1) what are the options for having []? I see this appears in the response.
2) how accurate is the vacinity address? is it just an approximation? Or is the definitely the address of the starbucks?
3) what is the unit used by distance?

Lastly as I have asked before, what documentation would provide answers to these precise types of questions?

I would suppose [] is empty list, anyway, you could always specify which parameter it is that you get it for.

having parameter is new, it wasn't there last I checked. It returns an empty list for all the POIs that I checked. It is undocumented and hence you may ignore it for now.

2) how accurate is the vacinity address? is it just an approximation? Or is the definitely the address of the starbucks?

It should be pretty accurate, the data is very likely collected manually in most cases.

3) what is the unit used by distance?

distance is in meters.

Hi,

1) We will return some fields that are not documented. Generally, this means, they are experimental and you should not rely on them being always available.

2) Vicinity is NOT necessarily an adress. Please don’t rely on it for exact addresses. The purpose of vicinity is a textual description of the search item to distinguish it from other items in the list (i.e., in the future, it could contain "Starbucks, Manhatten" vs. "Starbucks, Bronx". Sorry if the examples sound stupid, I never was in New York). For exact address information, you need to fetch the place details through the link in the href field in the search response.

3) Unit of distance is meters, cf. http://developer.here.com/docs/place...pe-search.html and http://developer.here.com/docs/place...-contexts.html. Please be aware, that in case of a location context supplied by X-Map-Viewport, the distance field will be missing.
