Problem with socket connection

Hi,
I have this bizarre problem with the Socket problem.
I install the application and connect to my server on port 80. I am able to do this and write data.
However if I switch off the phone and start it again I just cannot connect to the Server again. My socket application however gives me a false status that I am connected. I write data and it does not reach the server.
I checked if I select the right access point when I restart and it seems ok. I also connect through the Internet gateway rather than GPRS gateway.

I actually meant Socket example rather than Socket problem.
