wTCP/IP????What is this

Ok, so I use GPRS to access XHTML-MP pages on internet. But then why use wTCP/IP protocol? I thought GPRS is a WAP protocol.
Anyway - is this wTCP/IP used today by any network in UK today?

GPRS is a bearer like a CSD.

Terminals use wireless profiled TCP/IP (wTCP/IP, which provides the same functionality as ¡°normal¡± TCP/IP with some bandwidth optimization.
