While trying to setup email connection to corporate email, I've find out that characters such as '\' and '*' in username and password fields, cause a lot of confusion to client app, and they get to server as {some-number}.

Is this a bug ?
Is this by design ? If so how do customers manage to connect to corporate email systems, which usually demand strong password policies ?

Any workaround ?

Is there a firmware update to solve this ?
