I have been working on SIP for series 60 phones for my thesis. I have written %90 of SIP stack for Symbian and ...
Today Nokia announced SIP plug-in for Series 60 . Does anyone working on SIP for Symbian?
[ I think they will announce RTP plug-in soon ]
I'm doing a thesis on context-aware comunication so have also been trying to get SIP going, I've only just taken a look at the plugin but haven't worked out if it provides everything you need for Voice over IP have you had any luck in this area.
SIP is used only for the connecting stuff, so how to send data is completely different matter (probably RTP/RTPC), what do you expect from sip to be able do Voice over IP? I'd say Register, Invite, maybe some Presence stuff...
btw, Delphiman, why not to release your SIP stack as opensource? I believe that quite a few people would be interested on further enhancements and usage....:-)
Hi, Delphiman
I'm working on the thema of my own thesis and I thought that creating an sip phone agent for an next generation mobile phone would be a good challenge. My idea is to try to connect the Nokia SDK using VoIP with a Brekeke softswitch using a Cisco 2611 Gateway to connect to the PSTN network. Do you know if that's possible?
Some ideas for my work?
Best Regards from Argentina
