    How to send/receive SMS to/from a SMSC
    Hi,

As you know GSM operators has push/pull SMS services which works on fixed numbers (like 5050,3020,7070). Each numer has one type of services, exchange rates,weather,scores..etc

I want my J2ME application be able to use such SMS services.

So my question is How to send/receive SMS to/from a SMSC.

I want use the SMSC center number defined in text Message setings of phone.

    Thx
    Alper

Using WMA API or SMSConnection, when you send the SMS, it goes through the SMSC defined on the phone message settings only.
    thanks,

However, with standard Java messaging APIs, you can send SMS, but only receive SMS on a specific port number (other than 0), and not at all SMS sent to the default port (0), i.e., the default "Inbox". Java also does not allow to view/modify any SMS in the Messaging app folders.

If you need to get/receive SMS directly from the SMSC, then see the replies to: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...nd-port-number
