Can i compress data before sendind throught network

i wnat to send file.amr or .wav from mobile to pc server can i compress it and how???

There is somewhere a Zip-compressor available which works on Input/Outputstream. Don't expect good results with wav and amr files, though.

Google around a bit to find this API.
