Platform Request used for updating existing midletsuite?

Hi All,

I'm wondering that is there anybody who has succesfully implemented a platform request for updating an existing midlet suite on a phone 6600?

I have read the known issues of the phone 6600 document. In this document was told that the platform request doesn't work on a software version 3.42.1 but it is fixed on version 4.09.1.

I have updated the phones software to the requested one.

Now the platform request works to the point were it starts the installation process of the new midlet suite(it actually loads the jar file from a web server), but the installation process doesn't finish apparently(according the phones log files) and the midlet suite is not updated.

So the question is: is this a result of my mistakes or is it a known functionality of the phone 6600?

if you find an answer, i am interested to, i'm trying to do pretty much the same thing.
Do you have any idea of the compatibility of this method on other phones ?

as far as i understand the problem, it appear that the midlet cannot be updated it it's still running.
But normally, according to the MIDP specifications, the midlet is supposed to be closed by the platform before to proced to the installation.
i think someting's wrong, and there must be a way to bypass this problem

My application gives the facility to call to a number.

It works on all devices except Samsung ZX 10.
When I tried the build on Samsung ZX 10 it gave me "Security Exception: while trying to ask the user for permission".

What must be the problem ?
Does Samsung ZX 10 not support platform request ?

Please help me out !

Is the Samsung an operator branded phone? The platformRequest could be not allowed for unsigned apps
