API for Cell info message...Option

hi all,

could any one please tell me how get (cell info message ) Location information via Symbian's C++, please?
what header and method API should I use?

I haven't seen any public API that could retrieve the cell name, but Cell-ID can be easily obtained. just search this forum and you'll find sample code and solved problems on the topic.

Is there an API to find out which operator network the device is connected to (a string with the name of the network) ?

Yest there is, can not remember the excat header name, anyway check EtelBgsm.h & EtelAGsm.h for SDK 1.2 and Etelmm.h for SDK 2.X (look for operator long & short names)

One more thing ..There are inumerable no of posts on this forum regarding CellID and related Info ..SOmetimes a person gets confused about which header for Wchih version of OS .What all libraries to link .. Different code segments etc .. and what not ..

Definitions of terms like LAC , IMEI, IMSI etc ..

Can u compile all that at one place .Atleast the following .

1. One Code fragment to get the Network Info
2. The headers and which header for which version and Library..

Ofcourse if it is not too pressing for you .

the headers you require are etelbgsm.h etel.h and the important lib file you will require is gsmbas.lib
