Checking Firmware ver of 6230

1. Whats the latest Firmware ver of Nokia 6230 ?

2. How can I check the firmware of my new Nokia 6230 ?

1. I believe the latest firmware is v4.44. At least that's what I've read on other forums. In the US, i think cingular released all their 6230's in 4.43.

could be possible...haven't heard anything about 5.0 being released though.

oh, ok, so I believe that version 5.24 will be the next firmware upgrade. I believe it is scheduled to be released in jan 2005.

I went to a Nokia agent in my country, Mauritius. They say that if my nokia 6230 is not original or was previously unlock, they cannot upgrade the firmware.
The reason is that when they connect their nokia equipment, it will automatically lock the phone.
Is that possible ??? Or i guess they are fooling around as they don't wanna flash any phone that was not bought from them.
Anyone got any comment about this ?

haven't heard anything about this before. I'm sure you could find someone to flash it. There are places all over that can probably get the flash done for you. I haven't personally flashed my own 6230, so not too familiar with it.
