I am trying to use audio streaming (e.g. CMdaAudioOutputStream) in the Series 80 2.0 SDK beta2 - however, in the WINS emulator I get a null-pointer exception in RAWHWDEVICE whenever I try to Open() the stream.

The same happens with the AUDIO example and the Music Player application that comes with the emulator.

Is this just a fluke in my installation, or is there a bug in the S80 2.0 beta2 emulator that prevents audio playback?

    Thanks for any pointers...

    I use WinXP SP2.

Actually, I am running under XP SP2 as well - could this be the common factor?

I would find it surprising that such a bug could slip through Nokia's testing if it happened on all plaforms... :-)

Can anyone confirm that it works for them on another OS version?

Believe or not, I've found a cure.

Download Series60 SDK for Symbian 7.0, and copy the file
    'epoc32\release\wins\udeb\mediaclientaudiostream.dll'
to same folder in Series80 SDK (replace it).

    Now sound plays just fine!
