support audio recording at 44.1kHz?

hi all,
I want to create a audio record application which will work at samplerate of 44.1 KHz. I am not clear whether S60 or Nokia 6600 can support this samplerate. Anybody can help me?

The 6600 does not seem capable of streaming above 8kHz. At least that's the highest rate I am able to open an audio output stream at.
