    Hi,

I am currently working on a simple audioplayer for my phones: 6600, 6630

I am interested in knowing how the licensing works. Let's say I will use AMR, will I then have to pay licensing fees for AMR codec or am I able to use API's provided by the OS?

The choice of codec/standard for my audio player is depending on the cost for using it, since I am developing this bu my self and have not resources for paying such licensing costs.

    Thankfully

I think you don't need to worry about it. HW & SW manufacturers is most likely the partyies that needs to handle the license issues of the provided API and their implementations.
