6310, dau-9p and win2k

I've been using 6110, dau-9p, win2k (sp2) and datasuite3.0a for a period with any problems. Now I have a 6310, pc suite 4.5a, same cable and same computer. I've uninstalled the datasuite 3.0a and installed the pc suite but are unable to connect the 6310 and the computer. I'm using com1.
What am I missing here?
What should settings be on the com port - b/s, databits etc ?

Hello to you firebird...
you are using the wrong cable...
6310 cable is called DLR-3P.
6110 has a SW modem while in 6310 there is a HW modem built in. This is why the cables are different.
