Problems with the "HTTP Client Example" by Nokia

Hello Friends,

As the subject says, i downloaded the "HTTP Client Example" application from the Nokia Forum, and i didn´t succeed when i try it in the emulator and even when i try it in a nokia 6600.

My emulator connects perfectly when i navigate in the internet. ¿What do i have to write in The GET and the POST URI boxes in order to manage the application properly? I write for example "www.google.es" and always get an error called "error: -1" .

Does anybody succeeded trying this application in the emulator or in a device?, How did you get it?

Como en el asunto indica, me descargué hace poco la aplicación "HTTP Client Example v 1.0" del Forum de Nokia, y no consigo que me funcione ni en el emulador ni en el movil.

En el emulador puedo navegar perfectamente por Internet, pero este programa no consigo que ejecute los GET y POST. Cada vez que pongo una dirección en la casilla de URI, me sale: Error: -1.

Y en el móvil (Nokia 6600) se me queda pillado en "connecting".

¿Ha conseguido alguien que le funcione este ejemplo?.

hi,
problem could be in your ethernet configuration.try with www.google.com.i succeed in both emulator and nokia6600.in my case it works properly on emulator,but failed in nokia6600.when i changed the access point in nokia6600 it works properly

I tried all the suggestions you gave about httpexample but am getting a error message(-7361) when trying to get an url www.google.com.i.
PLease give response soon as possible.

are you testing in emulator or nokia cellphone.is your services able to access www.google.com.mail me the details.

Am using series60 emulator of sdk2.0 of symbian 7.0s.Also kindly give information about the ethernet connection details also,just to check wheather my ethernet connections are ok.

are you using DHCP or own ip address.i am using nokia sdk2.1.send me the ip details.if you try in nokia sdk2.1 ur problems will be solved easily.

I am using own Ip address , we were not able to get a http connection using emulator .We installed virtual serial port driver and tried to make a connection using mRouter.exe,but failed ..These r my IP details...And v are using sdk2.0...

hi,
i didn't try with sdk2.0.if you try to use sdk2.1 then it will be easy to configure ethernet and u don't need any virtual serial port or other things,

I tried a lot to establish a connection in sdk2.0.Now we are forced to switch to 2.1,please guide us with the steps in connection process in sdk2.1

hi,
there is no other configuration required for sdk 2.1.just from sdk menu select tools->ethernet support configuration ->
type the ip address detail,select network adapter in promiscuous mode.

I am trying the same example but getting Error -21 .


My Steps are.

Compiled and running Emulator.

Choosing HTTP Get Method.

In URl Value given is www.google.com

And then it asks me Select Acces Point.
it gives me two options

1.Direct PPP
2.NT RAS With Null Modem.

I chosse both options it gives me error as Error -21.

Please help me out if I am missing out any Settings.
