I have just installed the WAP Gateway Simulator 4.0

    When I initiated a connection, I got:

Requests from remote clients (166.156.xxx.xxx) not allowed on gateway simulator
    166.156.xxx.xxx <- http://wap.yahoo.com, aborted
Requests from remote clients (166.156.xxx.xxx) not allowed on gateway simulator
    166.156.xxx.xxx <- http://wap.yahoo.com, aborted
Requests from remote clients (166.156.xxx.xxx) not allowed on gateway simulator
    166.156.xxx.xxx <- http://wap.yahoo.com, aborted

I would like to know, if I'm not allowed to simulate a WAP service, then how am I supposed to create an application? I need to be able to fully browse and this is simply ridiculous... I hope this is rather an error on my end than some nifty featuer of the product.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can assist me with this matter.

    Sincerely,
    vtknightmare

    Hello!

I just tested to use Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator with Nokia Mobile Browser 4.0 and open the connection to the http://wap.yahoo.com.

I didn't reach any problems, so I'm asking that are the Gateway simulator and the SDK you are using installed to the same computer? (It must be).

Have you tried GATEWAY Simulator and Browser on different host. I guess on the same host, it works. But when GATEWAY and Browser are on different hosts, it gives the above mentioned error. May be Nokia GATEWAY Simulator is not supporting mobile clients.Thanks.

    Hello!

Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator should not be used different host than Browser SDK. It has been informed on the User Guide.

"Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator, hereafter referred to as NWGS, is a single-user WAP Gateway based on the multi-user Nokia Activ Server. When installed on a computer, NWGS enables the user of that computer to access the mobile Internet through programs that communicate using the WAP protocol such as Nokia Mobile Browser Simulator 4.0"

    Hi

Thanks very much for the reply. As I am working on the GGSN product, WAP request from the browser should go to the GGSN. After charging the packet, GGSN will forward the request to the GATEWAY. Since GGSN gives mobile client its own IP address, GATEWAY will deny the access as that IP address is not the same as of Nokia Browser.

    What same problem, exactly?

As I replied to your other post (also in a 4 year old thread):

You have the same problem as someone had 4 years ago?

Perhaps your problem isn't the same one, but something else. Could you start by explaining:

    - What exactly are you trying to do/accomplish and how?
    - What happens when you try?

And as your problem most likely isn't the same one as the one in this thread, perhaps you could post a new thread with your problem?

Your other, duplicate question in the other old thread: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?p=546207
