    Hi Arun,

    You cannot do this!!!!

You are totally right and I have got same problem here.
This is not only problem with Nokia 6230 all manufacture devices simply J2ME platform application not allow to send SMS message or make call from third party application with (trusted) or without certificate BUT you have a solution

1st option: Manufacture of the device certificate
You have to contact manufacture of the device they will (must) sort out your problem (all manufacture have root certificate and they will give you special certificate) we did not get this option first because very cost of this process!!!!

2nd option: Network Operator Certificate (Orange, O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, and so on)
You have to contact to your network operator they may be (not sure because they do not have root certificate) sort out your SMS issue we are select this option and work with closely to resolve this problem.

When we will sort out this problem then I let you know or if you have any other alteration solution or work-around please let me know

    Thank you
    Mani

    Hi, Mani,

    "Signing a midlet on Nokia 6600 or 6630 "

I had purchsed a verisign digital id class 3 certificate from verisign.
I found there are two methods to sign the midlet:
    1. Follow the instructions from Verisign, to use the keytool and jarsigner.

    2. Use the wireless toolkit to import certificate and keypairs, then to sign
    the midlet.

I found on Nokia 6630 after I signed, there are only the groups "Connectivity", "Read user data" and "Edit user data" having the options "Always allowed"; on Nokia 6680, only "Connectivity" has the "Always allowed" option.

I have seen your former posts and know that you does not meet this problem. What are your steps to sign the midlet?

Nokia 6680 has more problems. Its firmware is
    V 3.04.37
    01-06-05
    RM-36

It seems the same as your nokia 6680's firmware.
The signed midlet is working fine on the Sony Ericsson K750, I can change
    the most of setting values.

Could you give me some reply?

    Thank you!
    Forrest

Have you checked from the application manager that what is the domain category for you installed/signed application (should be something else than untrusted 3rd party)?
Have you checked that the certificate you are using can be found both of the devices?
Have you checked the trust settings for this certificate so it can be used for application installation?

    Hi, Hartti,

    Your questions:

    >Have you checked from the application manager that what is the domain
category for you installed/signed application (should be something else than untrusted 3rd party)?
In Nokia 6630, I found the Domain category: Truested third-party
but in Nokia 6680, I found the Domain category: Untruested third-party

    > Have you checked that the certificate you are using can be found both of the devices?
I bought the VeriSign Java Object Signing (Class 3) Digital ID. Both of the phones have three VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary CA.

    >Have you checked the trust settings for this certificate so it can be used for application installation?
Only one VeriSign Class 3 cetificate has the settings to allow the application installation.

I used the WTK22 to sign midlet. How did you sign your midlet ?

    Thank you!

Remove your app from the 6680 phone. Change the application installation trust settings for all of the verisign class 3 certificates to yes. Try to install you application again.
Does it get placed now to the trusted 3rd party domain?

    Hartti
