Full Duplex 6630

I wanted to ask if it is possible to have full duplex in the new nokia 6630 ... HOW?

I think I saw a post in symbian knowledgebase that it it possible with the phone. The thing is that it is non-public API feature, and you need to use your pro-member channels to get answers directly from nokia.

I'm afraid that the API's are only provided to pro-member developers with close relationship with Nokia, so I don't really know where you could ask them for.

If you are a Forum Nokia Pro member, you could ask Nokia to open the API or enable your phone for full duplex. However, it does not come for free. You would have to submit it as a case to Forum Nokia Pro which requires a fee. =(

wouldn't make any sence really, but that would propably be normal with audio-extra-headers withing nokia.

Yep. That is what our Forum Nokia Pro representative told me. I assume that all cases submitted require a fee.

I certainly hope that you have been mis-informed... Does not sound really reasonable approach, thou in past months I've seen that there are plenty of things that do not really make any sence, but I quess any company can choose their policies as they wish.

Anyway, would be great if any of the Nokia internal experts could clear this out, since it would easy developers stress to know how excatly these cases are supposed to be handled...

Hello again. I guess I was misinformed because I tried checking out the pro.forum.nokia.com website and was able to find a Full-Duplex Audio Example there. The example was dated 09-Nov-2005.

It seems that there is also a link in which you can "Propose a new document" under "Technical Resources"->Documentation. I guess it is a way of asking Nokia to explain better the API which they provide.

Download, complete and return this template to suggest a new document which you would like to see produced by Forum Nokia. This is your chance to influence what documentation and examples are produced, so if there is a topic that you feel needs more coverage, make a proposal!

I am again under the impression that this way for asking clarification is free and not another means for Nokia to earn more money.

BTW, have you seen any documentation of enabling Stereo output as well ?

I have not seen any documentation regarding that. There are only 3 examples available right now and all were dated within 2005. There is a Platform Security Example, Scalable UI example for 2nd ed FP3, and the Full Duplex Audio Example.

Regarding stereo output, the only place where I saw that is in mmfcodecimplementationuids.h

Maybe this can be used with CMMFCodec and CMMFDevSound.
