Special FX ringtone

I always wondering to how they create special effects tone such as birds calls, drill machine, phazer gun tone etc. Nokia build in composer surely can't compose it.What i mean is these tone have high,continueous rapid tone/pitch. Is there any special tools or software to create it? Please help me.

N/B:
It's not midi format. Midi file won't sound like these special fx sound. for example please visit http://www.tmtouch.zed.com under special fx ringtone.
