access to addressbook

i have a project at school,and can i access to the address book of a phone using j2me?
also is it possible to make a default sms application for a symbian using j2me?

Hi.
Using J2me u cannot access the address book.may on some devices u can do..but most of the are not provide this facility.
U can write the SMS application in Symabian but in j2me i not soure.

You can send sms with j2me but the phone must support optional wireless messaging api.From www.j2mepolish.org you can get a list of the phones that supports this package.
