Splash screen

I have made a splash screen using "alert" which works fine on sony ericsson phones BUT the nokia s60 version 1 shows an error for the splash screen but the rest of the software works fine.

So i wanted to know tht is there any other method for splash screen for nokia phones.if there pls give me

Its better to display the Splash screen in Canvas..

IMHO almost all apps are displaying Splash screen in Canvas.

agree with gopal that canvas is probably the better way to implement a splash screen. But it's no science. Do it however you like.
