Recording during a phone call

Guys,

I wrote a simple app which starts recording in AMR format when I or the remote party picks up the phone. It works OK but the only thing which goes wrong is that when I start recording I hear some beep every 5 sec or so. I am using CMdaAudioRecorderUtility to record and I think I set it up correctly because when I start the recording manually when there's no call, it goes on OK and is recording nicely and there's no beep. This beep is appearing only in recording during a call. I tried to record a call in amr using the built-it recorder of Nokia (started it manually) and the same beep is there.

Does somebody know how to solve this "beep" problem and how to avoid it?

Hi

There is no way to stop the beep sound while recording a call. It is due to some legal restriction that nokia follows.
While recording a call the remote party should know that his call is being recorded. Thats why the beep

Can you please tell me how u have implemented the recording utility during a call. i wannu do some app for recording voice and during calls too...

Hi Antony,
Thanks and I got the sample...But i am unable to launch the app in emulator.
I am using VS6, S60_2.0....
when i tried to launch nothing is displayed on screen except caption and a MS error message is being displayed...
what can be the know problem??? Antony....

I don't think you can run it in the emulator. At least I don't know how to simulate phone call in the emulator...

Hi Friends,
I need some clarification regarding my recording utility. I am developing a utility which records a greeting message. And i will be waiting for an incomming call...when a call comes i need to play my recorded greeting, after that a beep and then start recording callers voice and stop after a min or when the caller hooks...
Now can u tell me how to play, beep, record..How to wait untill the playing of greeting, beep and then start rec???
can some one help me in this...i am a new bee...
And can u tell tell how to hide the app after activating the auto answer mode and pull the app when a call comes...
