    Hi all,

I want to put my mp3 file as a ringtone to nokia6630,6680 devices.
Is it possble to set mp3 files as ringtone in nokia?
Or is it required to convert mp3 to aac format to set as ringtone?
How to convert mp3 format to aac format?

    Thanks,
    Ravi.

By default the 6630 and 6680 do support MP3's as ringtones.

However, some operator variants (like from Vodafone) may resell phones where MP3s as ringtones have been disabled upon their request. Not a problem in any unbranded/retail phone.

Put the MP3s in c:\Nokia\Sounds\Digital in phone memory, or E:\Sounds\Digital on the memory card.

    Hi petrib,

    Thanks for your reply.
How to place my mp3 file in C:\Nokia\Sounds\Digital folder from a j2me MIDlet?

    Thanks,
    Ravi.

From a MIDlet, you say. If it is on a phone supporting JSR-75, then look into JSR-75 calls/APIs. If it isn't a phone with JSR-75 then you can't (no native file system access from MIDlets).
