[Nokia 6310i] InfraRed Comm in Java

Hi,

I 'd like to develop an application using the InfraRed of my phone (a 6310i) to communicate with the one of my television. But I found in many place that it was not possible to use Java to do this.

I'd like to know if this is completely true? Is there really no way in Java to send data though the "InfraRed port" of this phone?

Is there another way to develop an application for the 6310i which can control the "InfraRed port"? (like another language or something else..)

Hi,

The only way to access a phone's IR port is if it supports the JSR82 api. This is for the bluetooth and OBEX ports. On most occasions phone manufacturers will only support the bluetooth functionality and disregard the OBEX. It is an optional extra in the JSR spec.

I've been looking for this solution myself for quite some time but to no avail.
