I'm trying to install a set of MIDlets on my shiny new 6230i, however since I cannot use Windows for various reasons (PowerPC CPU being one of them) I am having a hard time getting the phone to install them.
I've had some success selecting .jad files in the browser, however that does not work reliably and counts against my monthly GPRS traffic. I have installed jmIRC and midpSSH using that method, so I'm probably not totally off here.
I am now wondering whether I could utilize Bluetooth to my advantage here. I can transfer files both by "regular" OBEX and OBEX push, however these files just show up with a "question mark" icon, and I cannot do much with them.
Is there some way that I could make the phone attempt to install the application?

there is a number of GPLed apps that I've linked to from here that fail to work for me, in case anyone wants to try. For all but one (where the .jad appears to be plain broken), the download succeeds, according to the web server, then the phone complains about a missing connection (?).
