Communication of Cell Phone with PC

I want to make connect the mobile telephone to computer using RS232 interface. I want to down load the SMS messages recieved to the mobile phone to my computer. Is this possible?, If yes,
I want to use my own software in the PC. How can I know the protocols that the mobile phone transmits? Can you sugest us regarding this.

Hello!

Any data enabled phone that has a serial interface will be suitable for this purpose (6210, 6310, 6310i for example).

Check the AT-command documentation in Forum web site. It will show you what are the required AT commands to receive SMS messages.
