Adaptive streaming

Hello !

This is my first post in the forum.
I would like to make some questions and I thank in advance anyone that would answer me.

I'm working on a project about 3G UMTS netwkork and streaming multimedia content with an adaptive rate concerning the quality of the network connection.

I tried with Darwin server but it seems to be very complicated implementing modules.

I would like to ask if it is possible to implement it using J2ME, Java Wireless Toolkit and a server application (I suppose J2EE) in a way that the server gets feedback from the client (as RTP and RTCP protocol do) in order to adapt the transmission rate.
