App in Background and Wait Dialog

Hi,

We have an application which can be sent to the background to continue in a hidden mode. However, the app uses a wait dialog which causes the backlight to come on whenever the wait dialog is activated via a timer.

Does anyone know how to fire off a wait dialog so that the backlight does not come on? Presumably, the wait dialog is resetting the inactivity time to zero.

maybe you could monitor in your appui class, whether you are on front (have a focus) or not, and use this information to decide whether you show the dialog or not.
